Materials & finishes

Built for commercial use

Hotel furniture is used far harder than home furniture. These choices make the difference.

Casegoods

  • Solid wood vs engineered wood or commercial plywood
  • Laminate for durability; veneer for a premium look
  • Edge-banding and moisture resistance near bathrooms
  • Hardware: soft-close hinges and runners rated for heavy use

Upholstery

  • Commercial-grade fabrics with a rub-count rating
  • Removable, cleanable covers for headboards and chairs
  • Foam density; ask about fire-retardant options
  • Colour-fastness under strong light

Finish schedule

  • One finish schedule per room type
  • Samples approved before production
  • Match to your interior designer's drawings
  • Spare laminate or fabric for future repairs

How it works

From floor plan to installed rooms

  1. Send floor plan & room count

Or photos and references if drawings aren't ready.

  2. We prepare the room-by-room list

A draft bill of quantities per room type, confirmed with you before anyone is asked to quote.

  3. Manufacturers quote

The same specification goes to several hotel furniture manufacturers.

  4. Compare and approve

Options side by side: specs, finishes, lead time and terms.

  5. Production, delivery, installation

We follow samples, production, dispatch and installation to your opening date.

Why a procurement desk

Why not go to one manufacturer directly?

You can, and for a small refurbishment it may be simplest. For a full hotel, comparing several manufacturers on the same specification shows you where prices really differ, and keeps you from being locked into one factory's range and schedule.

FurnishDesk isn't a manufacturer. We work for the buyer: we write the specification, collect and compare quotes, and stay the single point of contact through production and installation.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does it cost to furnish a hotel room?

It depends on the room type, the materials and finishes, whether mattresses and soft furnishings are included, and how many rooms you're furnishing. Send your room count and room types, and we'll get per-room package prices from manufacturers for your specification.

What's included in a hotel room furniture package?

Usually a bed with headboard, bedside tables, a wardrobe, a desk and chair, a TV panel or unit and a luggage rack. Deluxe rooms and suites often add lounge seating and a coffee table. You can add or remove pieces per room type.

Where do hotels buy their furniture?

Most hotel furniture is made to order by contract furniture manufacturers, based on the interior designer's drawings and finish schedule. Hotels either deal with manufacturers directly or use a procurement partner to source and compare quotes.

Do you manufacture the furniture yourselves?

No. FurnishDesk is a procurement desk. We source from hotel furniture manufacturers, compare their quotes and manage the order for you.

Is there a minimum order quantity for hotel furniture?

We don't set one. Manufacturers' minimums vary; made-to-order pieces are usually quoted per room set, and very small quantities can cost more per room.

How long does a bulk hotel furniture order take?

Made-to-order hotel furniture needs time for sample approval, production and dispatch, and the timeline depends on quantity and finish. The lead time is stated in your quotation. Share your opening date early so we can plan backwards from it.

Can the furniture match our interior design?

Yes. Hotel furniture is typically made to the designer's drawings, with finishes and fabrics approved as samples before production.
