Tops, bases and sizes
Tables take the most wear in a restaurant. Typical figures to start from; your layout decides the rest.
Table tops
- Solid wood: warm look, needs a hard-wearing finish
- HPL or compact laminate: resists heat, stains and scratches
- Stone or quartz: premium, heavy, needs a strong base
- Edge profile and corner radius for busy aisles
Bases
- Cast iron or powder-coated MS pedestal bases
- Four-leg frames for larger or rectangular tops
- Levelling feet for uneven floors
- Outdoor-rated finish for terraces
Typical sizes
- Two-seater around 600–700 mm square
- Four-seater around 750 mm square or 1200 × 750 mm
- Dining height about 750 mm
- Counter about 900 mm, bar about 1050 mm
Chairs, booths & stools
Seating that survives service
Frames
- Metal frames: slim and hard-wearing
- Solid wood: classic look, check joinery
- Stackable designs for banquets and cafeterias
- Floor glides that protect tiles and wood
Upholstery
- Leatherette or commercial fabric that wipes clean
- Removable seat pads where spills are common
- Foam density for long sittings
- Colours matched to your interior
Booths & outdoor
- Booths and banquettes built to your wall lengths
- Fixed vs freestanding booths
- Aluminium or synthetic rattan for outdoor use
- UV-stable fabrics and cushions
Cafeterias & canteens
Cafeteria furniture for offices, colleges and factories
Cafeterias need more seats per square foot than a restaurant, tops that survive constant wiping, and chairs that stack or bench sets that stay put.

FAQ
Common questions
How much does restaurant furniture cost?
It depends on the number of covers, the table top and base material, the chair design and upholstery, and whether booths or counters are built to size. Send your cover count and reference photos and we'll get quotes for your exact specification.
How many tables and chairs fit in my restaurant?
As a rough rule, casual dining is often planned at around 12–18 sq ft per seat including aisles, and cafeterias tighter than that. Your kitchen, service stations and exits decide the real number, so send a floor plan or room size and we'll suggest a table mix.
Can you make furniture to match reference photos?
Usually, yes. Most restaurant furniture is made to order. Send photos of the look you want and we'll ask manufacturers to quote on that design, with samples to approve before production.
Do you supply cafeteria furniture for offices and colleges?
Yes. We source table-and-chair sets, bench sets and stackable chairs for office cafeterias, college canteens and factory canteens.
Can you supply outdoor restaurant furniture?
Yes. Mention which areas are outdoors and we'll ask for weather-resistant frames, tops and fabrics.
Do you manufacture the furniture yourselves?
No. FurnishDesk is a procurement desk. We source from manufacturers, compare their quotes and manage the order for you.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
We don't set one. Manufacturers' minimums vary by product, and very small orders can cost more per piece. Tell us your quantity and we'll tell you what's practical.
